Cyber Colours

This review aims to illustrate the cultural and communicative change that has taken place since colour took on a bright, luminescent appearance in imitation of backlit computer screens. Our reflection also goes to the power of the net, which offers itself as the navigable cyber space of the global village. In this space, colours and functions tend to unify languages and symbols. The flow of the net erases boundaries and creates contaminations between cultures, produces stylistic eclecticism, weakens the consciousness of historical evolution, transforms time into a perpetual present, and puts in decline the intensity that is proper to other, deeper levels of communication. A communication that shortens the duration of feeling: the intensity of digital colours is not matched by the intensity of emotions.
